Salary ranging from $107,102 - $153,398 (plus additional Youth Ministry Coordinator allowance)

 

About the Role

The Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst is seeking a dedicated Religious Education Curriculum Coordinator (2 Point) to lead the effective organisation, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Religious Education curriculum at James Sheahan Catholic High School, Orange. This is a key leadership position that supports our school's mission to foster faith, learning, and academic excellence. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in shaping students' spiritual and educational journeys, while supporting the professional growth of faculty members. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development and implementation of high-quality Religious Education programs in line with NESA and CEDB guidelines. 
  • Promote and model the Catholic ethos, mission, and values across the school.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-driven professional learning culture within the RE faculty. 
  • Use data and evidence to inform teaching practice and improve student outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with NESA, CEDB, and internal reporting and assessment requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage faculty meetings, resources, budget, and performance development.
  • Engage students and the broader school community through RE-related events, liturgies, and communications.

About You

  • Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications to teach Religious Education courses with Category D accreditation, with proven experience in teaching Stage 6 courses.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools, and the charisms of St. John Baptiste De La Salle and the Venerable Catherine McAuley.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a KLA team and to successfully liaise with students, staff, parents and relevant organisations regarding Religious Education curriculum matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of effort, engagement and excellence through the development of a positive, supportive student environment and related structures.
  • Have the capacity and desire to work with the Leader of Mission and Formation in promoting faith development in the school and to support the work of the Parish.
  • Willingness to undertake administrative, curriculum and supervisory duties associated with the position.
