About the Role
St Columba's Catholic Primary School has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Officer to join the team on a temporary basis in 2026. The role will be a part time position where the hours may slightly vary based on students’ needs.
The Learning Support Officer will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality instruction to students in a Catholic School setting. The role will involve:
Providing in-class support for teachers and their students with learning needs
Supporting and supervising students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment
Facilitating the remedial reading program (MacqLit)
Assisting with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD)
Administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions
Input into the planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans
Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences
Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment
