About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Officer to join the supportive team at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Molong, NSW. The Maintenance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the school’s facilities and grounds are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.

We are seeking a Maintenance Officer who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

  • Assisting with the care and maintenance of buildings, furniture, equipment, and grounds.
  • Undertaking general maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and well-presented school environment.
  • Maintaining gardens, sporting fields, and external school structures.
  • Carrying out periodic cleaning and maintenance of roof gutters, drains, and sumps.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance storage and work areas remain clean and in good order.
  • Following Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures and assisting in identifying and reporting potential hazards.
  • Supporting the preparation of classrooms, furniture, and equipment as required.
  • Undertaking other duties as reasonably directed to support school operations.

About You

We are looking for someone who can address the following selection criteria:

  • Experience in general building, grounds, or maintenance work.
  • Ability to follow WHS regulations and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a school team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the school’s grounds and buildings to a high standard.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to working in a Catholic school environment.
