About the Role
As a senior leader in our school, the Assistant Principal collaborates closely with the Principal to guide and nurture the school community as a centre of faith, inclusion, and missionary discipleship. This pivotal role shares responsibility for steering the school's mission and vision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Catholic learning and teaching experiences. The Assistant Principal achieves this through various key functions:

  • Fostering a Faith Community – Create a vibrant faith community that inspires spirituality and upholds Catholic values
  • Student-Centered Learning – Lead the development of a dynamic learning environment focused on continuous improvement and positive change.
  • Building Collaborative Partnerships – Collaborate with stakeholders to support the faith, learning, and well-being of students and staff, fostering belonging within the Catholic community.
  • Advancing the Vision of Catholic Education: Uphold and model the mission of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst through exemplary leadership in faith, education, and community.

About You (selection criteria)
We are looking for someone who is able to address the following selection criteria:

  • Is a practising Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education, and an understanding of leadership in a Catholic context
  • Is a leader of learning, with the capacity to lead change and demonstrate contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student learning
  • Has demonstrated experience in building teacher capacity and managing performance of individuals and teams
  • Has the proven capacity to lead the Professional Learning Culture of the school
  • Promotes a culture of informed decision-making, transparency and collaboration around the use of data 
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and effective change management skills 
  • Holds or is pursuing a Postgraduate Qualification in Education, Leadership, Theology or equivalent
  • Meets the requirements of (Category E) in the Accreditation Policy to Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Bathurst Diocese
