About the Role
All Hallows Catholic Primary School, Gulgong has an exciting opportunity for a School Support Officers to join the team on a temporary basis in 2025. The role will be a part time position where the hours may slightly vary based on students’ needs and can be negotiated to suit your schedule.

The School Support Officer will support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality instruction to students in a Catholic School setting. The role will involve:

• Providing in-class support for teachers and their students with learning needs
• Supporting and supervising students with additional learning needs in and out of the classroom environment
• Facilitating the remedial reading program (MacqLit)
• Assisting with data collection and maintenance for legislative compliance (NCCD)
• Administrative tasks in support of NCCD and disability provisions
• Input into the planning and implementation of Personal Learning Plans
• Collaborating with classroom teachers to ensure the inclusion of all students in all learning experiences
• Applying appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment

About You
We are looking for someone who is able to address the following selection criteria:

• Experience and effectiveness as an SLSO, School Support Officer, Teacher’s Aide or equivalent
• Hold Certificate III in School Based Education Support or above, or be working towards a tertiary degree in education (completed, completing or enrolled)
• A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team
• Sound communication and organisational skills, punctuality and adaptability
• Sound personal skills that include patience, understanding and perseverance
• Characteristics that provide a positive role model to students at the school both in their professional and personal life
• The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation
