About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an approachable and organised Administration Assistant to join the supportive team at Catherine McAuley Catholic Primary School in Orange, NSW. As an Administration Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s front office, providing exceptional support to staff, students, and families while maintaining the welcoming and professional atmosphere of the school.

We are seeking an Administration Assistant who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

  • Serving as the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors, handling enquiries professionally and directing them as required.
  • Assisting with student attendance records, enrolments, and school communication through Compass and other systems.
  • Managing correspondence and documentation, including emails, newsletters, school calendar updates, and maintaining student records.
  • Providing administrative support to school leadership and staff, including filing, data entry, and preparing letters or reports.
  • Assisting with school events, excursions, and bus bookings, ensuring proper communication and organisation.
  • Administering basic first aid when necessary and managing student medication following school protocols.
  • Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all administrative tasks and communication.
  • Collaborating with the Principal, teachers, and office staff to maintain an efficient and supportive school environment.

About You
We are looking for someone who can address the following selection criteria:

  • Hold relevant administrative qualifications or experience in a school or office environment, with proficiency in administrative systems and processes.

  • Demonstrate strong organisational and data management skills, including the ability to maintain accurate student records and process school documentation efficiently.

  • Show a commitment to professional growth and collaboration, actively contributing to a positive and efficient school office environment.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, supporting the school community in a professional and respectful manner.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and visitors through patience, empathy, and professionalism.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in school management systems such as Compass and familiarity with administrative compliance requirements in an education setting.
