About the Role
The Application Services Officer supports the delivery and maintenance of key educational and enterprise applications across Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB). This role is essential in managing, integrating, and supporting systems such as Compass, Google Workspace, Seesaw, and Canvas, while ensuring effective data flow, user support, and administration across schools and offices. The role also supports integration frameworks such as Boomi, Snowflake, and AWS S3, in alignment with CEDB’s digital and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Services: Assist in the support and management of CEDB’s enterprise applications including Compass, Google G-Suite, Seesaw, Canvas, and Hapara.
  • Integration & Data Management: Support system integration using tools such as Boomi, Snowflake, AWS S3, and OKTA Identity Management.
  • User Support: Provide ICT support to staff and students, promoting a self-service culture and ensuring users have the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
  • Service Management: Monitor and manage ITSM tickets, escalate issues as needed, and ensure effective communication with users about issue resolution.
  • Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver training for supported applications and systems. Maintain comprehensive admin and user documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in feedback gathering and service enhancement initiatives in collaboration with the CIO and broader ICT team.
  • Collaboration: Promote strong teamwork across schools and office environments, actively participating in meetings, projects, and strategic ICT initiatives.

About You (Selection Criteria)
We are looking for someone able to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Experience in a similar role within a medium to large ICT environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • ITIL Foundation certification (desirable).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management technologies such as OKTA.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Workspace and Office 365.
  • Knowledge of integration tools and API-based data flows (e.g. Boomi).
  • General understanding of front and back-end programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, SQL, PowerShell, PHP).
  • Experience creating user-friendly training material and support documentation.
  • A commitment to the mission and purpose of Catholic education in the Diocese of Bathurst.
