Library Technician | La Salle Academy, Lithgow

About the Role 

La Salle Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Library Technician to join the team commencing Term 4, 2025. Working closely with teaching staff, the Library Technician plays a pivotal role in supporting student learning and literacy. This is a hands-on role involving: 

• Assisting students with reading and research.
• Supervising study areas and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Developing and maintaining a dynamic library collection.
• Promoting literacy and a love of reading.
• Maintaining circulation systems using Oliver V5.
• Supporting staff and students with AV resources and technology.
• Coordinating displays and events such as Book Week.
• Upholding Catholic values through involvement in the school’s mission and prayer life.

About You 

We are looking for someone who can bring the following to the role: 

• A passion for student learning, literacy and educational support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with library systems (Oliver V5 preferred) and SCIS cataloguing. 
• Ability to support and uphold Catholic values and traditions.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a school community.
• Previous experience in a school or library setting is advantageous.
