About the Role 

St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Orange is seeking a passionate Learning Support Officer to join the team. As a Learning Support Officer, you will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers by delivering targeted, high-quality assistance in reading, writing, and mathematics. Your focus will be working 1:1 or in small groups with students who need extra support, helping to build their confidence, skills, and independence. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Promote and embody the Vision and Mission of Catholic education in the Diocese.
  • Support students’ spiritual growth and foster a respectful, inclusive school culture.
  • Assist with planning and delivering literacy and numeracy intervention programs.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers to adapt learning strategies.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to a positive learning environment.

About You 

We are looking for someone who can address the following criteria: 

  • Holds a Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent (desired) 
  • A valid Working with Children Check 
  • Understanding of Child Protection principles and relevant policies
  • Knowledge of literacy and numeracy instructional strategies
  • Familiarity with the Disability Standards of Education
  • Commitment to the mission and ethos of Catholic education 
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
