About the Role

St John's College, Dubbo is currently recruiting for a key leadership position, Leader of Diverse Needs. This position plays a vital role in shaping a school culture where every student is known, supported, and empowered to thrive. The role of Leader of Diverse Needs has a strong focus on coaching and professional development, leading inclusive transitions, and ensuring a safe and faith-filled school environment where all members of the community belong and grow. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead, model, and support inclusive teaching and learning strategies across the College.
  • Manage NCCD processes, including collection of documentation and allocation of support.
  • Coordinate and mentor LSOs and teaching staff, building their capacity to support diverse learners.
  • Foster strong partnerships with families, external professionals, and system-level personnel.
  • Provide spiritual and strategic leadership in alignment with Catholic values.
  • Monitor compliance with Disability Standards for Education, Privacy Act, and Child Safety policies.
  • Support conflict resolution and staff accountability processes with professionalism and care.
  • Engage in and promote ongoing professional learning, including study in inclusive education.

About You 

  • Relevant teaching qualification and current NESA accreditation. 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in inclusive education or similar field.
  • Knowledge of NCCD, Disability Standards for Education, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Postgraduate studies in inclusive education (or willingness to undertake).
  • Commitment to the mission and ethos of Catholic education.
  • Willingness to travel for professional development or system-level engagement, including overnight stays.
