Temporary, Part-time position (56 hour fortnight)
From $88,852 - $104,00 per year (pro rata)

Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB) is seeking applications from meticulous and methodical Records Management Officers to join the HR, Risk & WHS team. This role is a temporary, part-time position with potential for part time or  full-time permanency in 2025.

About the role
Reporting directly to the Head of HR, Risk & WHS, the Records Management Officer is responsible for accessioning, arranging, managing and disposing of records across CEDB’s network of 33 schools. The Records Management Officer will:

  • Establish and maintain archive databases in accordance with industry best practice standards
  • Develop and deliver training materials for mandatory induction and continued education for all stakeholders involved in records management
  • Provide strategic advice and implement a best-practice information management strategy and framework that aligns with legislation, policies, and standards
  • Analyse data and utilise when necessary to prepare high-quality audits and comprehensive reports
  • Transfer information onto CEDB’s record management system
  • Managing the life-cycle of records from active to inactive status
  • Be expected to travel to diocesan schools to work closely with school staff and

Travel to diocesan schools will be required to work closely with school staff, providing guidance and support as they transition to the new records management process.

About you (Selection Criteria)
We are looking for someone able to align with the following selection criteria:

  • Qualification in archives, librarianship or records management and /or equivalent combined relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
  • The ability to manage projects, coordinate activities, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge  and experience in archival management and arrangement
  • Strong IT skills and experience working with collections and management systems and data
  • Demonstrate an understanding of risk management and disaster preparedness
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment and to meet deadlines
  • Hold current valid driver’s licence and a willingness to undertake travel to schools as required
  • A willingness to support the values and ethos of the Catholic tradition in the workplace
  • Be eligible to hold a Working with Children Check
